Christmas Birds

21 Dec

I’m afraid dear Beatrice, I’ve done it again. I simply cannot stay out of Liberty’s. I see it’s grand statuesque architecture, it’s glittering gems, it’s fine selection of treashurable delights, and I quite simply cannot walk away. With Christmas only a few days away I’ve only just managed to find myself in the festive spirit. After a rather lacklustre start to the season, even with this wonderful duvet of snow across the land, I’ve felt rather non Christmassy. However, the tree is now donned with baubles, the banister glittering with tinsel and twisted pine, the air full of festive scent. It’s not as stunning as Leonora’s perfect and decadent style I’m sure, but for this single bachelor it’ll do just fine. I was lacking some eye catching decorations for the Christmas tree, and as usual, Liberty’s winter shop came to my rescue. And though many think that this luxury shop may be a little extravagant, Christmas decorations are magnificently cheap.

With these two little birds now amongst my tree’s branches the entire ensemble has come together nicely. Whilst the gorgeous glittered fello was just £3 the dove now gracing the top of the Christmas tree was only £4. And whilst they make look stunning in my festive surroundings, they would be equally well placed as a little stocking filler in four days time.

Cheap Yet Chic Christmas Decor

28 Nov

Oh Beatrice,

That knitting bag really looks quite lovely. Whilst my knitting skills are well under par, I’m sure that you’ll be making a wild and wooly wardrobe in no time. But please, let it not negate your cake making delights!

I must tell you, you know how fond I am over Liberty’s. Well, though much of the shop is an extravaganze that even I cannot afford, their Christmas store is rather super. It’s delightfully themed to colour so you can find anything you might wish in a moment. Located on the highest floor, it’s beautifully presented, and they have everything you could want for from glistening white paper birds, to fur cones in the shape of squirrels. Squirrels I tell you! AND the most important thing, it is really quite, quite affordable. I bought some delightful pink fairy tree decorations for just £5 each, quite a reasonable bargain. There’s really nothing like emerging from Liberty’s, glistening bag in hand, to feel you’ve had a chic shopping spree.
